Sound levels were measured around the feed plant in Norway when it was in operation. These showed that whilst they were high within close proximity to the plant, they dropped quickly as distance increased. By 600m away they were within 55db, similar to normal conversation. The landscape around the plant in Norway is very flat, with no tree cover, allowing sound to travel easily. The location of the proposed feed plant within the quarry, which is itself surrounded by trees, means that sound will not travel as far.<< New text box >>
